How to add hold music to RingCentral

The steps

  1. 1Sign in to the RingCentral Admin Portal.
  2. 2Go to Phone System → Groups → Call Queues and open the queue callers reach on your main line.
  3. 3Click Greeting & Hold Music, then under Music settings enable “Waiting in queue music” and/or “Hold music” and click Edit under each.
  4. 4In the Set Audio dropdown choose Custom, upload your file, click Done, then Save.
Format gotcha

The Hold music toggle under a single user's extension only plays for calls that employee personally answers and holds — it does nothing for callers waiting on the main line. For that you must set it on the Call Queue.

Or skip the hold entirely
