How to add hold music to Nextiva

The steps

  1. 1In the Nextiva admin portal, go to Company & Locations → Locations.
  2. 2Hover the location, click the ⋮ menu, and choose Voice Settings.
  3. 3Open the Music on Hold section and click Add greeting → Upload a greeting.
  4. 4Drag in your µ-law WAV, name it, and Save — it becomes the active hold music for that location.
Format gotcha

Nextiva only accepts G.711 µ-law WAV, mono, 8 kHz, under 2 MB — an MP3, a stereo file, or a CD-quality WAV is rejected. The “WAV · 8 kHz µ-law” download here is exactly that.

Or skip the hold entirely
